The HABC Level 1, 2 and 3 Award in Principles of Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF) is designed to cover a broad range of skills that are suitable for learners in diverse sectors of employment. This includes workplace environments such as retail, manufacturing, food premises and the care industry.

The qualification is also suitable for individuals who are returning to work after a prolonged absence or those who are entering the workforce for the first time.

This regulated qualification focuses on the importance of maintaining health and safety and ensuring that employee actions reduce risks in the workplace.

Candidates will cover a wide variety of topics relating to health and safety, including all aspects of health and safety legislation, fire procedures, chemical safety, manual handling and personal protective equipment. This makes the HABC Level 1, 2 and 3 Award in Principles of Health and Safety in the Workplace (QCF) an ideal starting point or introduction to the field of general health and safety for any workplace environment.

The qualification has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). The qualification can be taken as a free standing qualification or as part of a wide programme of training.
