HABC Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness (QCF)
The HABC Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is an entry level qualification aimed at providing staff with the basic knowledge, skills and awareness to be able to deal with fire safety issues. It is aimed at all staff, but particularly at new starters in the workplace, where basic understanding of fire safety is required.
Employees that gain this qualification will be taught to understand that fire safety is the responsibility of everyone in the workplace rather than any one specific party, and will recognise the contribution they can make in preventing the start and spread of fires.
There are no prerequisites to this qualification although it is recommended that participants have gained at least Level 1 in literacy, numeracy or an equivalent subject.
The HABC Level 1 Aware in Fire Safety Awareness (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators in England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).
