HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF)
This qualification is designed to those who want to gain a nationally recognised qualification in First Aid. It is ideal for those already working and those who are preparing to begin work who wish to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.
The qualification is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills in First Aid.
The recommended course duration is 3 days, over which learners will cover topics such as:
- The roles and responsibilities of the First Aider
- Assessing an incident
- Recognising signs and symptoms of injuries and illness
- Chest Injuries
- Spinal Injuries
- Anaphylaxis
The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/or written questioning and practical demonstration.
All successful students will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification.

The HABC Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (QCF) has been accredited by the regulators of England and Wales (Ofqual and the Welsh Government) and is part of the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF). It is also supported by Skills for Health, the Sector Skills Council for Health.
